Horsepower... redefined.

From the wonderful folks at TreeHugger...
The Naturmobile, by Fleethorse.

Power. Measured in horsepower. Bus. Powered by actual horses.

Oh please, tell me that people are not going to buy into this idea. A life cycle analysis is not required to show the world that this is NOT an energy-efficient mode of transport.

Really effing hilarious video though. Maybe it's actually a big ol' hoax? Complete with a dance tune from about 2003... someone help me out with that song.

Hahahaha! What is the horse pushing against? If it just walks on a level treadmill without any harness or...some fixed object to push/pull, it will walk right off the treadmill. That is, unless the treadmill is itself powered by something, such as a pack of chinchillas. In that case, the horse is just for show, and the bus is really chinchilla-powered. And how do the brakes work? Do they make the treadmill stop so the poor horse falls over?

I can't help you with the dance music title...but the video inexplicably starts out with "Besame Mucho" playing under the narration.
